Kawakawa is a revered Aotearoa native plant, long used in Rongoā Māori (traditional Māori medicine) for its wide-ranging healing properties. Known as a tonic herb, kawakawa supports digestive health, skin conditions, urinary complaints, and general wellbeing.
Kawakawa’s stimulating and rejuvenating properties treat a multitude of conditions including:
-High blood pressure, circulation, and cleansing and purifying of the blood
-Internal and external skin conditions - bruises, eczema, dry irritated skin, cuts, boils, abscesses, wounds and insect bites
-Digestive problems such as indigestion, heartburn, cramps and bloating; Pain and discomfort in the joints, muscles or fibrous tissue.
-Coughs and colds, bronchitis, worm infestations, general fatigue and lack of energy.
Kawakawa is a powerful, reliable and effective rongoā that supports the whole body - sometimes a cup of warm Kawakawa tea is all you need. Steep in hot water for 5 -10 min. Has a yummy sweet and peppery taste.
Wildharvested on our whenua within tikanga and traditional methods. Available seasonally in small batches.
